And it's a special "Launch Edition", in the exclusive Daytona Gray paint.

These cars come standard with red seat inserts, and all the bells and whistles.

(Not his car, but same edition)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

It's a beautiful thing, however...

It costs a few hundred bucks shy of $50k

I think I'd rather have an awesomely optioned ATS for that cash. I like the red inserts tho!

Beautiful car.

I don't like how audi does the base / S / RS tiers though... seems to push the RS models up in price and sometimes eliminate the RS model altogether.

Yup, the full tilt boogie versions of entry level German cars end up around 50k.

My 135is with no navigation stickered at $49k and change. Similarly equipped M235i is about the same.

CLA45 AMG starts at $47k and change.

Its not that they eliminate them all together...they just fail to bring them over seas to us. But we have an RS5 and RS7, We just don't have an RS4 or RS6. Something about even numbers i guess....

I agree, beautiful car. As someone who recently got an S4 I considered holding off for the S3 but after reading about them more I can't see the benefit. The size is a little smaller, but the S3 doesn't have a true Quattro system, its some Haldex system that provides more power to the front wheels most of the time until the rear needs more power. It also didn't have a manual option (which I wanted), and lastly the engine in the S3 is a brand new engine for an Audi. Where as the 3.0 Supercharged V6 in the S4 has been around since 2010 (had a couple issues in its first year or two) but can also be found in A6's, A7's, Q5's, etc.

But it is a nice looking car nonetheless.

Love Audi design. However for shy of 50k there's a lot a man or woman can buy. But it is a special edition which has to be respected. Even a little.

P.s. what career field do I need to be in!?! Corpo finance will take me forever!

Which for US purposes eliminates them altogether. :(

I know we used to get the RS4... did we ever get the 6?

Why do these Audis have to look so sexy.... :D

Agreed, sweet car, but for that price I'd rather have a lightly optioned S4 with a manual.

I wonder what performance will be compared to the M2 when that's released. That's a comparo I can't wait to see.

It's not a brand new engine. the same block (third gen EA888) is used in the A3 and is gradually getting introduced into other models...though it is only used in the S3 and Golf R with the larger turbo.

Also, I have a Golf R which has Haldex...I don't care for this "fake awd" nonsense, as in practice it works great, just as well as it did in my B6 Avant. The S3 has the next generation of Haldex which will be even better.

Yeah, I know, and I'm no stranger to owning German cars. It's just startling because only a few years ago, you could get an M3 for that (in 2008 the Sedans weren't moving)

It would be more accurate to compare this to the M235i....the M2's competitor would be the RS3.

Me too. I'd be okay with a base S3 6MT.

if we were comparing apples to apples (new to new), I would take an M235i 6MT.

I'll admit I haven't kept up with the VAG line like I should, I assume it's similar to the MK7 Golf R? That looked like a lot of fun on the Chris Harris vid.

ooo in that case, my apple would have to be a 6MT 535i. F10 are so gorgeous imo. I think that puts me slightly above 50 but oh well haha this is fantasyland, ill just shake the money tree a little harder

Can't get an F10 535i with a 6MT. RWD 550i and M5 only.

Yea we got an RS6 two generations back. 2002-2004 cars. I agree...It is a bit unfortunate that we don't get the same cars...I really wish we did. The new RS6...So good looking...

I wasn't saying that the Haldex system is terrible, I'm sorry if I offended you. Its a fine system and has plenty of performance to offer. I was just stating I would prefer the Quattro over it, just my personal preference.

And Typically engines don't have failures in the blocks...Its all the other components that CAN cause issues. Hence why i said it was a "new" engine. Not saying its a bad engine or will be terrible just stating a fact.
